 Attractions

We went to the Spyscape Museum where we had to pass five different tests to find out what kind of agents you are. The first test was Profile Personality- in this test you had to play 8 games that were based on you and then you could move on to the next test which was Deception- in this, the FBI had a girl named Anna in for questioning and they asked her three different questions and you had to tell which answers did she lie about. After this it was Encryption- now you had to help an agent by sending her a cipher code in under 3 minutes otherwise the radio signal would be lost, next was Surveillance- you would be asked 15 questions and you have to answer them by being observant and aware of your surroundings. Last but not least was Special Ops- during this test, you had to go inside a room, once you were inside you are to avoid the lasers and press the buttons that light up. Then there was Debrief- this isn’t a test but you find out what kind of an agent you are and I am an Intelligence Operative.

I went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum and it was amazing. It explained a lot more about the WTC and how passengers sent their loved ones their last messages and how police officers helped them. There were videos, that showed how the WTC fell, and how Al-Qaeda prepared to hijack planes. The museum had a lot of areas, where it was written every minute before- during-after the fall of the towers. The whole museum felt dull to know that more than a thousand people died to just save others from the fall. Emotions come and go all the time but sometimes they never seem to go, that is how people felt when the towers fell, some people thought to make their wife/husband dinner but didn’t know they weren’t coming back that day. People on the high floors jumped out of the building to save themselves but some didn’t survive.

We went to MOMA a.k.a The Museum of Modern Art. Over there we saw different types of art, some galleries were dedicated to famous artist's paintings, along with sculptures made with wood, steel, plaster of Paris, etc. Paintings of horses that displayed almost all the colors, we saw videos about how they made the paintings and sculptures, and we even saw The Red Matisse book and painting. The second time we went there was this beautiful painting that showed a woman carrying her baby child in her hands with her kids on the side. A lot of paintings were abstract, oil art, and composite.

The Jewish Museum had a sculpture that represented where Abraham on his knees, with his hands tied and looking at his son Isaac, while Isaac was standing and looking at his father. Some videos showed how they made the sculpture and how long it took. We expected it to be a Holocaust Museum which would explain the concentration and death camps that Hitler had the Jewish going to. The museum didn’t have a lot to show but we had a good time.

The Intrepid Museum was amazing, we saw so many photos of the people who took part in WWII, The Vietnam War, etc. We saw famous artifacts from when these wars had happened, e.g.- The Avenger, The USS Growler, etc. after doing the reading and pictures we went and did a flight simulation. This was a two-person simulation, so we went inside a box and on the screen, it displayed that we were going to be ambushed and we had to control the fighter jet on our own, now that was terrifying because I had no idea how to control jet and thus began the game. Once it started, we were ambushed and confused cause we had no idea who had to control the jet, so I tried and I was the pilot like that for 15 minutes we kept switching pilots until the simulation ended. We then went into the USS Growler submarine. Inside the Growler, we saw the missile launching area, the bunks, the ships Generals’ Bunker, the ships control room, the toilets, the kitchen, the camera that allows you to see above sea level, the food storage area, and the mess.

Central Park was the place we visited one too many times, almost every day when we were free in the morning or afternoon we’d go to the central park. Sometimes we would have ice cream while walking in the park or go and watch baseball or just walk around. When we would walk around the park, we’d see so many dogs of a different breeds, sometimes we’d see them playing with the ball, some would be sunbathing, and some would be sleeping. Just a few days ago we had gone to central park and stayed there for a long time and while going back from the inside of central park we saw three dogs who were playing and so I called one towards me and he came to me. His name was Nick and he was so cute, I kept on petting him before my brother pulled me away. After that, we started to go outside of the park but instead of reaching West 57TH and 7th avenue, we came out on East 42nd and 7th avenue so we walk back. And then we came back and ate at Chai Thai Kitchen and then we went to our room.

The Broadway Harry Potter and the Cursed Child show is about the journey Albus takes while growing up, and the roles he and his best friend, Scorpius (Draco Malfoy's son) it was beyond amazing. We started our journey from our hotel walking to the theater and we stopped near times square to see an acro-dance group doing their thing and after that, we proceeded to go to the theater. The show was brilliant, the way they put on the show was great because of the effects of the dementors, and when Ginny, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco figure out the answer to Delphi’s riddle the whole theater lit up in purple and the answer to the riddle was written on the walls., the props. The whole show was intense, comedic, and scary, and the way they were changing clothes so quickly was great.

The One Vanderbilt was a building made of glass and it gave you the best view of the city. When you enter the building you go through the queue, get a picture taken and then you move on. The experience starts when you enter the elevator which is made of glass but it was a mirror and you go up to the 91st floor in less than 30 seconds. Once you’re out of the elevator you go to a room which again is made of glass and you can see the whole of Manhattan the view was great, then we took a lot of pictures and after taking about 100 pictures we went up to the 92nd floor. On this floor, balloons were floating in the room o we played with them, and then I by mistake kicked a balloon and it went flying except I also kicked my phone out of his hand but it didn’t crack. Once we did the balloons we went to the next room on the same floor. In this room, there was a screen that had clouds floating on it so we took a few pictures, and then we left to do the Summit Ascent.

The Summit Ascent was when you go inside a glass elevator and you go up 20 stories and you get a view of the whole city. We then went to the next floor which was the 93rd floor and we went out onto the terrace. Once we were on the terrace we went and got our tickets scanned and then we got in the queue, we waited for about 7-8 minutes for our turn and we finally got it. We went inside and went up and at the top, we took photos, and then our lift started to descend. Once we reached back, we went and sat outside on the terrace and we saw 10 airplanes going from above us. We then decided to go back to our hotel, so we went inside and stood in the queue to go down through the elevator once again, once again we went down the building in less than 30 seconds and that’s how our day ended.

Today we went cycling in central park, it started with our mum waking us up at 7:30, so we got up and got dressed and went to rent our cycles. Once we got our cycles, we went to the park and started to cycle. I had a cycle which was too small and it only had 5 gears, like how am I supposed to ride with that. Even though the cycle was uncomfortable I still rode on it. The ride around the park was difficult because of so many up hills and down hills. The best part was that I was faster than Mamma even though she and 21 gears. Then about 45 minutes later we finished cycling and went to give our bikes back to the rental area. After that, we went to LPQ for breakfast and then came back to our hotel.

Travel

The first trip that I went on was to Lake George which was three-and-a-half hours away from NJ. We started the trip with a one-hour car ride to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. After that we continued our journey to lake George, it took us about 2 hrs 30 mins to reach there with no stops except small detours from my dad, like seriously, every time we travel in a car with papa, he ends up taking the wrong turns. Once we reached, we all selected our room and we kids took the basement room which had a pool table, Foosball table, and a TV. Once we did that, we went outside to play basketball and the teams were Simba and me, and Ryan and Parth. After playing for an hour or so we started to go walk back and everyone except Simba agreed that I carried the team to win. We reach our house and found out that all the dads had gone to get the ordered food which was Indian. After dinner, we went back down and put on the NBA Finals Warriors vs Celtics match, and we started to pool and Foosball. Around 11:30 the match ended with the Warriors winning and then around 1 am we all slept with peaceful dreams. We did the same thing the next day but after playing basketball for 10 mins it became really hot outside so we went back inside and watched the movie Inception. Once we finished that, we were called upstairs to watch a movie with Sharad Uncle because my dad had gone running and the mums had gone for a walk. We decided on the movie London Has Fallen, and by the time we finished that movie our parents had come home and it was lunchtime. When we finished lunch, we had come back to the house and we played Pool Hockey. We had been playing for a while and we didn’t notice it was dinner time. We quickly went up for dinner which was a barbecue, once dinner was over, we went back downstairs to watch a movie called Home Team and it was hilarious and by the time the movie was over it was 1:30 and then we went to bed. I woke up to see my blanket was ripped off me by my brother, so I got up did my course, and went upstairs. I ate a bagel for breakfast because I woke up so late. We all went outside to play basketball and then we went for lunch to a place called Gyro. We ate gyro sandwiches and then we all could pick what we wanted I chose Shaved Ice in Blue Raspberry which was amazing. When we came back, we all decided to go to the pool today and then in the evening we went inside the cold water. For some time, we played catch but then Path and my dad left so we play a game in which you take a baby float, and then you have to either put the ball inside the hole or touch the float. Later on, it started to rain so we went inside for a shower and then dinner. We ate pasta for dinner and then we watched this amazing movie called Hustle. The next day we went to a place called Sagamore for lunch and all of us were pretty much free so we watched two movies, one before dinner and one after. The one before dinner was 21 Bridges and the second one was Bench-warmers 2 Breaking Balls and that’s how our trip came to an end. Today we were going back and we stopped at Rishi Uncles' house for lunch and then we left for our hotel. You see our hotel was just 30 miles which would’ve taken about 40 mins to reach but because there was so much traffic it took us 2 hrs and 45 mins to reach.

Yesterday we went to my mum’s friend’s house in NJ where I met Pooja Didi, Mickey, Nimisha Aunty, and Nishit Uncle and their big husky Snoopy. We had an amazing time yesterday and today because we spent the night over there with them and it was great. Yesterday when we reached Snoopy was all over us because we were new people to him. We also watched the movie Top Gun at their house and the whole time during the movie Snoopy was sitting next to me when the movie got over, I went to change and then came down and cuddled with Snoopy. Today we went to the movie Minions: The Rise of Gru, after that we went back to their house and ate lunch. After lunch, Aunty dropped us at the train station and we took the train back to New York. Once we reached our hotel, and then we had dinner and ice-cream with all of our friends.

Food

The food here is beyond amazing, we have been to a lot of restaurants here like, Beyond Sushi- Japanese, we’ve been here six times and have eaten everything on the menu and I love the area because their food has great taste, texture, spicy and it comes in a good quantity it is also vegan so Mamma can eat here. Planta Queen- Japanese, we have been here twice because we simply loved the food and again it is also vegan, the food here comes in big portions so if you have not eaten breakfast and are hungry, you can eat here. Serafina- Italian, we’ve eaten here 5 times and it is a great Italian place but the one that’s near us doesn’t have a good host so we stopped going there but we sometimes can order food from there and apparently for mum the food comes in big portions here, but I think it’s because she doesn’t have a big stomach.
